6. Samara
A town 500 miles south east of Kieff on the River Volga.
It is situated on the line of the very important trans—continental railway. It is also a railway junction. During World War II (1939-1945) Samara became known as Kubushiev (if not before this) and it became the wartime capitalof the U.S.S.R from 1941 - 1945,

7.Toula (or Tula)
This town is on the main railway line 150 miles south of Moscow. It is now part of an important industrial area.
